in Brithish India. One look at Chakrata and

eternal home of natural beauty. Virgin forests of
conifers, rhododendrons and oaks are best suited
for long walks. Alongside these forests picturesque
village of Jaunsari tribe compliments, and
in the overpowering Kharamba peak (3084 mts.) Chakrata

km. from Kathyan, onwards Tuni, unfolds Mundoli. After trekking
up the 5 kms. ski slopes of Mundoli are everything a trekker
or an enthusiast can wish for. Skiing in Mundoli is an experience
only to be left. Mundoli is easily accessible from Devban
(23 kms.) by a jeepable road. |

a breathtaking easy trek of 5 kms. from Chakrata, Tiger
Fall is a water ballad with no equal. Falling gracefully
from a height of 50 mts. Tiger Fall creates a small pond
which renders an enchanting effect to the picturesque surrounding. |

tranqil Moigad fall, located on the main Delhi - Yamunotri
road via Dehradun - Vikas Nagar. On the way to Ymunotri

' Mahasu ' is worshipped in the village of Hanol,
lying on the eastern bank of Tons. The temple of
the deity constructed in the ' Huna' architectural
style elevated at 1429 mts. above sea level is 186
kms. from Dehradun It is believed that a demon lived
here and devoured at least one man a day. In
Mandrath,
a devotee of Lord Shiva defied the custom and prayed
to Lord Shiva for help. Deolari Devi another devotee
of Shiva and resident of Hanol on being directed
by God sent her four sons to Mandrath and asked
the man to plough his field. After a long fight

the man while ploughing his field discovered four
Shivlings - Maasu, Pavasi, Vasik and Chalda named
after the four sons of Deolari Devi. The villagers
their after started worshipping Shiva as ' Mahasu'. |

is perched on the Chakrata - Tuni motorable road. Backdrop
of towering peaks and dense rain forests, cuts out Kanasar
